Motorola expanded the Moto G lineup with other budget-friendly devices. The $ 160 Moto G Pure Run at MediaTek Helio G25 Octa-Core Processor, rather than Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 seen in Moto G which is a little more expensive.

G Pure has 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage (can be expanded up to 512GB via microSD). The 6.5-inch TFT IPS screen only has 720p resolution, which might help Motorola keep costs.

Motorola says you will get up to two days of use with a 4000mAh battery. This promises fast charging through the USB Type-C port. This handset is a water repellent, with IP52 ranking, meaning you have to be able to withstand spills, splashes and light rain. There is also a fingerprint and face sensor, as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The rear camera setting includes a 13MP camera, 2MP depth sensor, and LED flash. On the front, there is a 5MP selfie camera. Motorola says you can take videos on both sides in Full HD at 30 fps.

Unfortunately there is no NFC or 5G support. Motorola says the device will run on Android 11 outside the box, not Android 12.

Pre-orders for MOTO G Unlocked pure will open on October 14. On the same date, Verizon (former Engadget parent company) will offer it at no additional cost for people who sign up for a new smartphone channel. Moto G Pure will be available through other providers and in Canada in the coming months.
