This week, 2021 Rebelle Rally began with participants in the All-Female race which began a 1,500 mile trip across the Nevada and California desert. Kia Hyundai deployed two Sorento hybrids which were modified as part of the event. In the spirit of the rally, the car maker asked Lge-CTS Motorsports, a female shop in South California, to make two vehicles ready to race.
Each has an armor under the body to protect its vulnerable internal components. In addition, the store installed Sorentos with a bumper guard, slippery plate and 1 inch spacer to lift it slightly higher than the ground. They rose 17-inch KMC Matte Black Wheels equipped with Hankook Dynapro AT2 tires. To carry equipment, LGE-CTS remove the back seat to provide space for the interior cargo installation system and additional roof shelves. In particular, the store does not modify the powertrain of Phev.
We began to see more electric vehicles taking part in the durability races such as Rebelle Rally. At the end of April, Volkswagen’s Id.4 SUV took part in Mexico 1000 rally. The Audi division the company was also getting ready to compete phev which was built specifically in Dakar Rally at the beginning of next year. At this level, it feels just a matter of time before they become a more common sight in the durability race.
