Courtney Barnett’s web app lets you remix her latest singles

You don’t have to be a kanye fan (or buy a gadget) to pollute a new album. Musictech noted that Courtney Barnett has shared a free web-based stem mixer that allows you to cut three single from the upcoming things of Rocker Australia, take the time, take time. You can isolate or highlight elements such as percussion and guitar, and even a simple loop generator with the starting point and end. You will not produce a mixture of drum-and-bass “before you have to go,” But you might be closer than you think.

This is a promo for this album, of course, and it’s famous that you can’t (officially) save your composition. This might teach you one or two about layering in music. And it’s free – you won’t need more than your computer and some headphones to experiment with Barnett Tracks. Don’t be surprised if another artist follows, even if they can’t pull nine inch nails and release raw track files.
